Winter 2015 Future Plans! Empty Winter 2015 Future Plans!

Post by admin Wed Aug 19, 2015 2:28 pm

So it is almost Fall here in Canada, which means things usually slow down. But since Mealworms are kept and grown indoors I can actually do a lot more then I normally would do in the Summer Months. For those who don't know I have two main Colonies setup. One for experiments and one "Breeder Colony" that I plan to keep normally. This way I don't risk loosing my whole Population of Mealworms if any of my Experiments go south. Here are the Numbers in the two bins [note: There is likely much more then this because of tiny babies that I can't count]
Colony Numbers as of August 2015
Test Colony
300-400+ [There is quite a bit in there]
Breeder Colony
500+ [I'm sure there is plenty more then that in there but that is what I counted]

Of course the Main point of this Blog post is to give everyone an Idea of what I'm going to be doing on the Blog in the Winter Months.

Fall/Early Winter
1- Lots of Time-Lapse Slide-Shows
2- Guides! Lots of Guides about Mealworms and such.
Mid-Late Winter
1- Over-Feeding Challenge [I'll definitely be writing a lot about those in the near future!]

Of course that is just guidelines, I'll probably do a lot more then just that.

Well that's it for this Quick Update!
